Bureaucracy GPS was born from frustration — and a lot of wasted afternoons at the prefecture. We're a team of expats who learned the hard way and decided nobody else should have to.
When we first arrived in France, we were overwhelmed. Every government process seemed designed to confuse: acronyms nobody explained (CPAM, CAF, OFII, ANTS…), websites only in French, contradictory information online, and appointment slots that vanished faster than croissants at a boulangerie.
We spent months piecing together information from expat forums, Facebook groups, and awkward Google Translate sessions with government websites. Some of it was outdated. Some was wrong. All of it was scattered.
So we built the resource we wished existed: one place with clear, verified, up-to-date instructions for every major encounter with French administration — written in plain English by people who've actually been through it.
French admin is already confusing enough. We break every process into plain-English steps — no jargon, no assumptions.
Every guide is based on actual expat experiences — the mistakes, the surprises, and the tricks that actually work.
French regulations change constantly. We track policy updates so our guides reflect the latest requirements and procedures.
